If you are looking for peace and quietness, away from touristic centers, you should visit Valfloriana in the Fiemme Valley. The small village is situated in the south-western part of the region on the left bank of the river Avisio.

Old traditions like the Carnival costumes are still alive. The Carnival of the "Matòci" in Valfloriana is one of the most exciting traditional events in Trentino and the Alps. The inhabitants of the 13 districts of Valfloriana dress up as "Arlecchini", "Sonadori", "Bèla" and "Paiaci". They wander and fool around in the area! If you get the chance you should experience those nights between Epiphany and Pancake Tuesdays first hand - they are really worth a visit!
