Tesero - a great place for cross-country skiers
Tesero has the biggest cross-country ski center in the
Fiemme
Valley. The city held the Nordic Ski World Championships in
1991 and 2003. The Nordic-ski runs are amazing. We also recommend a
visit the nearby skiing areas of Alpe di Pampeago and Latemar only
a few km from Tesero.
This area is not only great for winter sports but very
attractive in summer, too. Where you do cross-country skiing in
winter, you can hike and bike in summer. And there are a
great number of paths and routes to do so - in the surroundings of
Tesero and the Lago di Tesero right at the foot of
the Lagorai mountain range. By the way, the Nordic
Walking Park of Tesoro is the oldest in Trentino!
Here you can find about 60 km of Nordic walking tracks.
Tesero is worth visiting also because of its unique culture and
art. Worth seeing are the churches in Tesero as
well as the beautiful sundials and the
impressive medieval frescos that
decorate many ancient houses in the town. Tesero is known as the
"Cittadella dell'Artigianato Fiemmese", as the "City of Handicraft
in Val di Fiemme Valley".
