The Marcialonga Cycling Race is the most important sports event in the Val di Fiemme Valley and in the whole Trentino region. More than 2,000 cyclers participate at the race every year. 135 km and 3,279 m of difference in altitude are to be conquered.
Participating bikers have to be in excellent physical condition. The Marcialonga Cycling Race goes over many passes and steep mountain roads. It's a great feeling cycling on the roads where normally it is impossible because of the numerous cars!
The course goes from Predazzo to Ziano, Cavalese and S. Lugano. From there the participants go on to Aldein, Petersberg and Deutschnofen. After they have reached the Passo Lavazè Pass they come to Tesero, Predazzo, Moena, the Passo San Pellegrino Pass, the Passo Valles Pass, Panegeggio, Bellamonte and finally back to Pedrazzo. Here the race ends.
By the way: there is also a "short course" with only 80 km and 1,894 m of difference in altitude. The race takes place the last Sunday in May. On www.marcialonga.it you can find all the information for participation.
