Bellamonte is situated on a sunny plateau nestling between the 2 mountains Pale San Martino and Colbricon in the Fiemme Valley. It is the perfect starting point for excursions in the Nature Park Paneveggio or in the mountain range of Lagorai.
Bellamonte is connected with the skiing area Alpe di Luisa. Winter athletes appreciate the huge offer of slopes and the great network of cross-country ski runs. From the slopes people can see the typical small barns (tablà) situated in the middle of the meadows. Some of them are more than 100 years old, weathered and colored by the sun. The "tablà" are among the most photographed sights in the Val di Fiemme Valley.
Tip: in the Nature Park Paneveggio there is a very interesting visitors center. From there hikers can undertake excursions into the "Foresta dei Violini" - the "Wood of the Violins". Centuries ago violin makers came here to get the high quality wood of Bellamonte and make the best fiddles of that time.
